'Uttaran' actor Tina Dutta reveals why fans don't like her bikini avatar

TV star Tina Dutta, who rose to fame and became a household name with the hit daily soap 'Uttaran', recently said that the fans of the show related her with her characters Ichcha and Meethi to the extent that even though the show has been off-air for years, they cannot imagine her sharing bold photos wearing swimsuits on social media, as it was not a look that her 'sanskari' characters would have donned. 

For the unversed, Colors' 'Uttaran' which aired from 2008 to 2015 revolved around two best friends from different economic backgrounds. While Tina Dutta essayed the role of Ichcha, the daughter of a maid, Rashami Desai played the role of Tapasya Rathore. After a generation leap, Tina later also essayed the role of Ichcha's daughter Meethi. 

Recently, when Tina Dutta shared some smoking hot photos of herself on social media, she was trolled brutally. A section of social media users left mean and nasty comments on the comments section of the post and even compared her to her character in the show. 

Recently, while speaking with a leading daily, Tina said that characters on daily soaps are 'etched in people's hearts' and it's very difficult to wipe off the image the fans have built of the person based on the character. "And to wipe that off and accept you as a different character becomes very difficult. Even today, if I put a picture of me wearing a monokini or a bikini on my social media, people comment that 'we love you as Ichcha, we don't want you to wear a monokini on social media. Ichcha kaise aise kapde pehen sakti hai (How can Ichcha dress like this) and all that'."

About how she reacts to comments and trolling, Tina said, "Aapko achha lagta hai ki aaj bhi log aapko pehchante hai uss character ki wajah se. Kabhi kabhi aisa lagta hai ki (You feel good when people recognise you as a character even now. But sometimes, I feel) why can't they accept me in a different character or in western wear."

Tina Dutta's Instagram handle is an onlookers delight. She often shares stunning photos of herself clad in different western wear and even drops photos donning traditional Indian attire. 

Recently, Tina hit headlines when she shared photos sporting a white monokini teamed with over-the-knee boots, flaunting her envious figure in the attire. 

On the work front, Tina hasn't announced any new projects yet.
