KBC 12: Amitabh Bachchan takes trip down memory lane, recalls the time when his parents couldn't afford Rs 2

After listening to contestant Jay's touching childhood memory, a deeply moved Amitabh Bachchan recounted one of such incidents from his own life, while sharing a personal anecdote with the contestant and the viewers.

On September 30, megastar Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 12's episode started with roll-over contestant Jay Kulshreshtha, from Mumbai, who had lost his job during the coronavirus-induced lockdown. 

An amazing host, Big B often encourages contestants on the hot seat to shares instances from their lives and talk about their journey, recounting memorable moments from their lives. 

During the course of episode, while Jay kept playing, he recalled an incident from his chidlhood days when he craved for an evening snack, 'bhel', that costed Rs 7 back in the day. However, Jay stated that due to financial crisis, his mother could not pay for it.

An emotional Jay continued, that when he failed to understand and forced his mother to give him the amount so he could savour the snack, she surrendered to show him her purse which had only Rs 5 in it. 

A deeply moved Amitabh Bachchan, then took a trip down memory lane, recounting one of such incidents from his own life, while sharing a personal anecdote with the contestant and the viewers. 

Big B recalled the time his mother Teji Bachchan couldn't afford to give him Rs 2 to join the school cricket team. An emotional Amitabh Bachchan, while speaking about the incident stated that such instances help keep one grounded and added that he knows and understands the value of Rs 2. 

“Rs 2 ka mulya kya hai woh aaj hume yaad ata hai (I still remember the importance of Rs 2),” he said. 

During the show, Big B also spoke about his prized possession, a camera that his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan had bought for him from his first trip to Russia. But it was only after Big B had become an actor. However, he mentioned that he still has that camera and that it holds a special place in his heart. “The value of these things stay with us all our life,” he said.

Jai Kurukshetra quit the show with a prize money of Rs 12.5 lakh. Police constable Jaswinder Singh from Maharashtra was the second contestant on Wednesday's episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 12.

Amitabh Bachchan returned to the shoot of KBC 12 immediately after recovering from coronavirus. The show is being shot following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the government.
