WhatsApp is the most popular messaging platform across the globe and millions of people use the Meta owned service for day to day communication. Although WhatsApp is known as a messaging platform, over the years, Meta has revamped its identity according to the needs of users. Now people not only use WhatsApp for messaging but also for audio calls, video calls, meetings, file sharing, broadcasting and more. Continuing on this path, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that WhatsApp users can now share their screen during video calls.

This means that participants in a WhatsApp video call will not only be able to see the face of the person they are interacting with, but also the media on their screen too. The feature will help working professionals and students to share presentations on the go without the need to install any other application.

The feature is quite similar to what Apple FaceTime got with the iOS 16 update, however it is users can not stream OTT together while on a WhatsApp video call.

To keep users safe, WhatsApp has added a privacy screen for banking apps and services as well as some sensitive things. This means WhatsApp automatically blacks out the screen when entering a password or while sending money.
