Twitter: 32 million passwords leaked, co-founder Evan William’s account hacked

After news broke out that a hacker had access to millions of Twitter credentials, the company’s co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, had his account briefly compromised.

His account had been hacked by OurMine, the same group which took responsibility for compromising Facebook CEO’s Mark Zuckerberg's social media accounts.

The company quoted, “A number of other online services have seen millions of passwords stolen in the past several weeks. We recommend people use a unique, strong password for Twitter.” In the past, high-profile users such as singers Drake and Lana Del Rey have also been hacked.

Recently, a security firm LeakedSource confirmed that it received over 32 million credentials from a seller named Tessa88. The hacker claimed to have to have access to credentials of over 379 million accounts. Reportedly, the leak contains usernames, email addresses, and plain-text passwords. It is being said that there was no breach in the company systems but, a malware that affected millions of browsers.
