Ever since PUBG Mobile got banned in India in September 2020, gamers are eagerly waiting for game to make a comeback in the country.
Latest reports suggest that Krafton, the company spearheading the game’s launch in India, is working hard to bring the battle Royale game to the country soon.
According to a report by Sportkeeda, the company is in touch with the Indian government and is awaiting their approvals and feedback for the re-launch of PUBG Mobile India.
“We are awaiting the Indian government’s consideration and decision on our next plan with PUBG in the region,” revealed a source at Karfton.
Giving an inkling about PUBG Mobile’s comeback to India, Sean Hyunil Sohn, the Head of Corporate Development at Krafton said, “I cannot tell the timing or anything because we don’t know yet. But what I can tell you is, we care about the Indian market greatly, and also that’s how I get to know you and get to know friends in the Indian gaming industry now. So definitely, we will work hard to make it happen.”
Sohn gave this update during the India Gaming Conference 2021. The company stated that they’re doing everything possible to bring the game back to India.
“With Krafton doing everything it can to prepare for the launch of a new PUBG app specifically developed and serviced for India, it has decided not to include pre-registration for PUBG: New State in India,” a Krafton official said.
The original PUBG Mobile Battle Royale game was banned in India last year by under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The Indian government banned hundreds of other Chinese apps including TikTok, Camscanner, PUBG Mobile Lite, among others.
