Just the day India needed as the para-athletes are making the country proud. This time shooter 19-year-old Manish Narwal clinched gold in the Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 Final. Not just that, another Indian Singhraj Adhana finished second and grabbed the silver in the same event.

The medal count for India has now reached 15 with three gold, seven silver and five bronze. Interestingly, this is also Singhraj Adhana second medal in the 2020 edition.

Singhraj had started off at the top of the charts with a score of 19.4 after 2 shots while Narwal was at 17.8 after a bad 2nd shot of 7.7.

After the 5th shot, the Indians were in the top 3 with Singhraj and Manish having scores of 46.1 and 45.4 respectively. However, after the seventh shot, things began to turn south for the Indians and the duo had given up their lead. Manish went down to 6th place while Singhraj went to 3rd.

They were inching towards the elimination round and after Shot 12, Manish was up to 104.3 in rank 5 while SInghraj maintained his position at rank 3.

Post two eliminations, Singhraj and Manish were ranked 4 and 5 respectively and were out of the danger zone. However, they had to make it to the top 3 and after shot 14, only 6 competitors were left with the Indians still in positions 4 and 5.

Things changed after shot 15 that saw Manish and Singhraj go a position up. The former was seen seated at 3rd spot with a score of 133.4.

After Shot 16, the Indians were in the top 3 with Singhraj bearing down on the leader. Manish Narwal had a score of 151.3 in third place after shot 17.

With no elimination now, the Indians had to make sure they were medal contenders, but disaster struck as Manish Narwal had slipped to 4th position.

The two Indians were then trying to stay in the competition when a shot of 7.5 in the 18th shot took Singhraj from 2nd position to 4th. However, shot 20 brought both the Indians back into the assured medal contention.
