After India clinched their eight Asia Cup title by beating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, Mohammed Siraj has now jumped 8 spots to become world no.1 bowler in the ICC ODI rankings. In the Asia cup finals that took place on Sunday, Siraj recorded his best bowling figure of taking 6 wickets for 21 runs (7 overs) that helped India to dismiss Sri Lanka in just 50 runs only. While Siraj is currently ranked world’s no.1 bowler from India, there is another Indian bowler who has fallen down in the "top 10 ODI rankings". We are talking about Kuldeep Yadav who is amongst the best spinning bowlers for the Indian cricket team.

Kuldeep’s performance in the recent Asia Cup has immensely contributed India to win the trophy. But ahead of India’s match against Australia starting from 22nd September, Kuldeep has fallen three spots down in the ICC Top 10 ODI Bowling rankings. Even though Kuldeep’s ranking has dropped, he has still managed to be under top 10 best bowlers. His current spot in the ranking is 9th.

Apart from Kuldeep, there are other bowlers in the top 10 rankings who have fallen down as well, majorly from Australia. Josh Hazelwood, who was earlier reigning the list by being the no.1 bowler, has fallen one spot down to 2nd spot. While his other team players, Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc have fallen one and three places down respectively. Starc holds the 6th spot, followed by Zampa on 8th spot. Whereas New Zealand’s pacer, Trent Boult has also fallen one spot down to 3rd spot.

Other than Siraj, only Matt Henry upped his rank by one spot and holds the 7th place in the rankings. Whereas bowlers like Mujeeb Ur Rahman (4th), Rashid Khan (5th) and Shaheen Afridi (10th) has remained unmoved from their respective spots.

Ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, India is gearing up for their match against Australia this Friday. The Indian squad has been announced with Ravichandran Ashwin’s return. Also Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya will not be playing the first two matches of the series. KL Rahul will replace Rohit as the captain, while Ravindra Jadeja to vice captain the team in the absence of Hardik.
