Isha Gramotsavam: Rural India’s biggest sporting event enters grand finale

Isha Gramotsavam, the biggest sporting event of rural India is set to host summit games in kabaddi, volleyball and throwball on the grand finale day on Saturday. Men and women players from villages across 5 different states will compete in the finals in presence of Adiyogi, Sadhguru and Union Minister Anurag Thakur. 

Apart from the fierce athletic contest in an electric atmosphere, the event is showcasing rural talent, rural games, art, drama, dance, music, and food. The grand finale of the Isha Gramotsavam will be live streamed from 9 am to 6 pm. 

“Let’s bring games, sports, and playfulness into our families, neighbourhoods, villages, and towns. A ball can change the world,” Sadhguru said on the occasion.

The Grand Finale will begin with Men's Volleyball Finals, followed by Kabaddi Women's Semifinals and finals, Kabaddi Men's finals and Throwball finals before the closing ceremony. Isha Gramotsavam 2023 saw participation of 5,130 teams comprising over 60,000 players from 5 states.

The prize money for winning teams is as follows:

Volleyball (Men): Rs 5 lakh

Kabaddi (Men): Rs 2 lakh

Kabaddi (Women): Rs 2 lakh

Throwball (Women): Rs 2 lakh
