A complaint was filed at MS Park police station against Sachin and we are examining it, said a senior police official.

''The complaint was regarding insult caused to the national flag.''

The complaint was in connection with the ceremony at the place of the High Commissioner to West Indies where Sachin cut a cake made in the colours of the Indian tricolour, when the Indian team was touring the islands for the Cricket World Cup, he said.

However, the 'accused' has to be living within our jurisdiction in order to take action against him, he added. ''Nevertheless, we are examining the complaint.''

In related news, a local court in MP on Friday gave directions for the presentation of an inquiry report on a complaint over Sachin Tendulkar cutting a cake in the colours of the national flag last month.

Sendhwa-based businessman Hitesh Seth's counsel Tejas Shah had filed a complaint before Judicial Magistrate Manoj Mandloi's court.

According to the complainant, Sachin had hurt the feelings of crores of Indians by disrespecting the flag when he cut a cake in the colours of the national flag.
