The Supreme Court rejected former BCCI president N Srinivasan's plea seeking clarification whether he could attend the governing body meeting as the president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).

Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) called its Special General Meeting (SGM) in Mumbai on October 4 to select its new president, post the sudden death of Jagmohan Dalmiya.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur informed that Srinivasan can not attend the meeting but he was not barred from casting his vote.

The BCCI on September 12 had urged the apex court to clarify whether the former BCCI president and current International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Srinivasan should be allowed to attend the meetings as the TNCA president.

The apex cricketing body sought the clarification as court by its January 22, 2015, order had said that Srinivasan cannot contest elections for BCCI presidency as long as he is involved in "conflict of interest".

The question posed for clarification is whether having been barred from contesting election on account of his being in conflict of interest situation also excluded Srinivasan from attending the cricket board's meetings.
