Commercial LPG cylinder price hike: Customers received an unpleasant surprise as October began, with oil companies raising the rates significantly. Starting from October 1, 2023, the cost of a commercial gas cylinder has jumped by Rs 209. In Delhi, the 19 kg LPG cylinder now sells for Rs 1,731.50. Although not officially confirmed, this change has been communicated to ANI by a number of sources.

Notably, just a month ago, the government slashed domestic gas cylinder prices by Rs 200. However, as of October 1, domestic LPG rates remain steady. In major cities, a 14.20 kg domestic gas cylinder is priced at Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 929 in Kolkata, Rs 902.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 918.50 in Chennai.

In contrast, oil companies had lowered the price of both domestic and commercial gas cylinders in September 2023, with the 19 kg cylinder's price dropping to Rs 1,522 in Delhi. The recent hike in commercial gas cylinder prices could potentially lead to increased costs for dining at hotel restaurants, as these establishments typically use commercial gas cylinders for cooking.
