The Centre recently clarified that the Aadhaar-UAN link should be done according to Section 142 of the Code on Social Security, 2020.
Important notice for EPFO Subscribers! Your Aadhaar Card should be linked to your Provident Fund before August 31. The Central government recently announced that it is a mandate for EPFO Subscribers to link their Universal Account Number (UAN) to their Aadhaar card.
If you are not able to do the same by August 31 then your access to Employee Provident Fund (EPF) will get clipped off and you won't be able to avail of the benefits. Notably, it will be possible for employers to file Employee-cum-Return (ECR) challans and deposit money to EPF only if your UAN and Aadhaar card are linked.
