Cheque books of account holders of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India will get discontinued from October, Punjab National Bank PNB) has said, alerting it customers. 

This comes after Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India were merged with PNB on April 1, 2020. 

In a post on Twitter, the PNB wrote, “The old cheque book of eOBC and eUNI are going to be discontinued from 1-10-2021. Please replace your old cheque book of e-OBC and e-UNI with the PNB cheque book with updated PNB IFSC and MICR."

The account holders of these banks will need to get new cheque books from their PNB branch. They can also apply for a new cheque book through an ATM, using internet banking or PNB One or by contacting customer care. 

From October 1, 2021, the PNB cheque books with updated PNB IFSC and MICR will be valid and all customers are required to get the updated cheque books. For any queries, customers can contact 1800-180-2222.

Meanwhile, PNB has also waived all service charges and processing fees on retail products amid festival season and is also offering an interest rate starting at 6.80 percent on home loans and 7.15 percent on car loans.
