The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) education board on Thursday made public a list of 30 educational institutes running within the municipal limits, but without the state government’s prior permission.
Sixteen of these schools are English medium, 13 Marathi and one Hindi medium. The board has appealed to parents to refrain from admitting students in such unauthorised schools. “Even after the PCMC issued notices to these schools to close down, they are still functioning,” the statement said.
Among the unauthorised English medium schools are: Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial School, Ganeshnagar, Bhopkhel; Gurukul School, Kalewadi; Bal Vikas Seva Mandir, Wakad-Kalakhadak; Bal Vikas School, Thergaon; Rashmoni Roy Memorial School, Wakad; Shramjivi School, Bhosari; Modern Public School, Rahatni-Ramnagar; Priyadarshani School, Moshi; Vibz School, Kiwale-Vikasnagar; All Saint School, Nigdi; Dnyansagar School, Chikhali; Infant Jesus School, Kasarwadi; St Antony School, Dighi; Angel Primary School, Pimple-Nilakh; Vishwakalyan School, Chikhali; and Vishwaratna School, Chikhali.
The Marathi medium schools labelled unrecognised are: Dnyanraj Primary School, Kasarwadi; Sant Tukaram Maharaj Vidyalaya, Morevasti; Aanadibai Waghere Primary School, Pimpri-Waghere; Dnyanvardhini Balak Mandir, Rahatni; Shree Santoshbhau Landge Primary School, Bhosari; Indrayani Vidyamandir, Dighi; Bharati Vidyamandir, Dighi; Sanskar Primary Vidyamandir, Chikhali; Matru Seva Mandir, Akurdi; Sane Guruji Vidyamandir, Ravet; Dnyansagar Primary School, Chikhali; Vidyarthivichar Prashala, Chikhali; and Vishnupant Tamhane Vidyalaya, Chikhali.
The Hindi medium Saryodya Hindi Vidyalaya has also been declared an unrecognised school.
