He studied through video-conference, got into IIT
Kapil Vaidya,18, stood 13th in the all India rankings for the JEE (Advance). Vaidya had topped in the state in the JEE-Main with a score 335 out of 360 marks. He had studied for the entrance exam through video-conferencing offered by a Mumbai-based coaching class.
He scored 307/360 in JEE (Advance) results for which were declared June19.
Kapil, who arrived in the city on Sunday said, "I was keen to take coaching from IIT-ian Pace. In Akola, they teach through video conferencing. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive but when I started attending the class, I started enjoying the experience."
The two year course is through video conference at a centre in Akola, where Kapil along with 49 other students studied.
Ask about his career plans post BTech, Kapil said, "I have not thought about it as of now."
Kapil's father, Eknath Vaidya is a scientist who works with Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University and his mother is a homemaker. Kapil studied in a state board institute, Davle Science College.
