Rajasthan has once again been glorified in the judicial area as Manjari Chawla, a native of Pragpura Gram Panchayat of Jaipur district has been appointed a judge in San Francisco Bar Court. Manjari has been a member of the San Francisco Court Bar Association for the past several years and takes initiatives to take up the judicial cases related to the people of Asian origin and raise their interests to provide them justice.
Manjari is the first Asian woman to be appointed a judge by the California Supreme Court. She has completed her studies from one of the world’s most prestigious Yale University. Former US President George W Bush, Bill Clinton and former Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton have also studied from the same university. Manjari’s entire family is now residing in the United States. Manjari practiced advocacy in San Francisco and the Chicago courts.
Manjari, who has come out of the rural area of Rajasthan, has raised the level in the judicial area of the state after Justice Dalveer Singh Bhandari, who was appointed as a judge in the International Court.
Manjari’s post might not be as big as Justice Bhandari, but her achievement is huge according to her age.
Manjari’s father Dr Sant Prakash Chawla works as a cancer specialist in California whereas, her grandfather Chandu Lal is still remembered as a good teacher and a social worker in the village and surrounding areas. Back home, the villagers are celebrating the happiness of Manjari being appointed as the judge in the US. The villagers wish that Manjari should come and join them in the celebration at the earliest, along with encouraging the girls in the entire village and to succeed at the international level.
