He reached Jaipur in a Jet Airways flight from Chandigarh and had to wait for 35 minutes to get back his licensed pistol he was flying with.
Though a personal matter, it triggered a question among fellow passengers. One was heard asking, "Why should Tharoor carry a pistol when he is coming to attend a literature festival." Tharoor was seen moving around restlessly in the arrival lobby waiting for his pistol.
