Delhi Capitals (DC) have a second shot against Mumbai Indians (MI) as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 17 runs in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

This is the first time Delhi have reached the final since IPL's inception. They now face last year's champions yet again and have a chance to win the trophy.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, DC sent Marcus Stoinis along with Shikhar Dhawan to open the innings. Dhawan led the way with a 50-ball 78 as they posted 189/3 in their 20 overs. against a sloppy SRH.

Stoinis, who was promoted to the top, posted an opening partnership of 86 runs with Dhawan. The pair smashed 65 runs in the powerplay.

Jason Holder, who has been a game-changer for SRH, bore the brunt of the openers' belligerence with Stoinis taking 18 runs off the fourth over bowled by the West Indies all-rounder. Holder was also taken on by his West Indies teammate Shimron Hetmyer (42*). His figures read 1/50 in four overs with DC captain Shreyas Iyer being the lone wicket Holder managed.

As for SRH, they were sloppy in the field and dropped three catches. Spinner Rashid Khan got one wicket and conceded 26 runs, four of which came from his own overthrows.

Coming in to chase, SRH skipper David Warner was joined by new opener - Priyam Garg. The duo started off good on the first over of R Ashwin. However, Rabada came in soon and sent back the captain. It was a pin-point inswinging yorker and Warner flicked it, however, the ball went past the inside-edge and smacked the pad and the stumps off.

Stoinis - who was brilliant with the bat - showed his prowess with the ball as well as he sent Garg and Manish Pandey in the same over.

SRH still had their hopes with Kane Williamson and Jason Holder at the crease. The duo started off good but soon Holder was shown the way back. He went down the track to slog and but instead of knocking it for a single, he decided to follow up on his intent and he had to depart.

Williamson had to take full control and new batsman Abdul Samad gave full support. Williamson and Samad ran them close, but it was not enough.

Sunrisers had Williamson fighting hard and showing his class, but Delhi were better in the field than the Sunrisers. They stopped runs where their opponents had leaked them.

Kagiso Rabada came in and soon did his job as for the second year in a row, the Capitals knock out the Orange Army in the playoffs.
