Irked by the poor disposal of public grievances, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday sought explanations from ten District Magistrates and ten Senior Superintendent of Police (SSPs) on their poor performance on redressal of public complaints.

Ironically, the state capital Lucknow and Yogi’s home town Gorakhpur were among the worst performing districts. About two months ago, the CM had warned the district officials with action if they fail to deliver their duties in attending public grievances on priority. He directed the DMs and SSPs to keep 9-11 am for meeting general public.

Yogi has sought explanations from the DMs of Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur, Allahabad, Sitapur, Agra, Jaunpur and Lakhimpur to explain why complaints were not disposed off in stipulated time-line. Similarly, he has sought explanations from SSPs of Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Mainpuri, Ferozabad, Allabahad, Behraich, Jaunpur, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Hardoi as to why action should not be taken against them.

Fixing the accountability on their performance, Adityanath has directed the Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar to collect their explanations and initiate action accordingly. He warned state officials again that action will be initiated against those who are found ignoring the people and their complaints.
