Prime Minister Narendra Modi who on Wednesday returned to India after concluding his three-nation tour of Portugal, the US and the Netherlands, spent almost 33 hours on flight.

Modi who had back-to-back engagements and tight schedule, spent one third of his time flying in his Air India Boeing, without staying a night in either Portugal or the Netherlands.

According to Economic Times, PM Modi does not spend a night in a country if there is no engagement scheduled for the next day and fly to next destination.

During his tour, Modi first visited Portugal, and after holding an interaction with his counterpart and the Indian community, he left for Washington DC. In the US, Modi had at least 17 engagements including the meeting with American CEOs.

The highlight of his four-day trip was the US leg of the visit as Modi met President Donald Trump for the first time on June 26 in Washington.

In the US, Modi held talks with Trump during which the two leaders vowed to strengthen cooperation on terror. India and the US also urged Pakistan to ensure that its territory is not used to launch cross-border  terror strikes.

In Portugal, he held wide ranging talks with his counterpart Antonio Costa. He also addressed the Indian community there and presented the Overseas Citizen of India card to Costa.

Modi, on the final leg of his trip, visited the Netherlands and held talks with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte. He also addressed the Indian community there.
