The NCP chief said he doesn't want to retire from politics as yet
NCP Chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday reiterated that he was not in the race in the ensuing Presidential election. Instead, he said he was in favour of a consensus candidate of ruling and opposition parties.
He was reacting to reports in a section of press that opposition parties, who met on May 26, want him to run for the post of President of India.
"I have already said that I am not in the race. I do not want to retire from politics so early. I have suggested that the candidate should be decided by consensus but if it does not work out then a committee be formed to decide the opposition's nominee," he noted.
