Congress president Rahul Gandhi made a major gaffe at the Lok Sabha on Friday that left the MPs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi laughing their heart out.
"Pradhan Mantri ji BAR mai jate hain...bahar jate hain. I mean abroad," Gandhi said while launching a blistering attack on Modi government.
Gandhi meant to say that the Prime Minister took many trips to abroad (bahar) but instead ended up saying 'bar'. However, soon after he said 'bar', Gandhi was quick to come back saying he meant 'abroad' although the damage had already been done.
This left the whole parliament and even PM Modi cracking up to the Congress president's major gaffe.
Earlier on Friday, actor and BJP MP Paresh Rawal took a dig at rahul Gandhi saying if the Congress president speaks without ant mistake there will be earthquake in the country.
"Agar aaj Rahul ji bina padhe, bina fumble kare, bina ghalti kare 15 minute bolenge toh dharti zaroor hilegi, hilegi bhi kya, naachegi," Rawal was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Meanwhile, #BhookampAaneWalaHai was currently the top trend on Twitter. It is a political hashtag used by a lot of Twitter users including BJP leaders to mock Rahul Gandhi ahead of the no-confidence motion debate on Lok Sabha. Even BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya tweeted a video of Gandhi's gaffe in LS with the hashtag.
This is a callback to Congress President Rahul Gandhi's own statement in 2016, when he said, "If they allow me to speak in Parliament, you will see what, an earthquake will come". That was in context of demonetization.
Then in April this year, Rahul Gandhi challenged PM Modi to a debate. He was quoted by ANI as saying, " 15 minute de dein , khare nahin ho payenge Lok Sabha mein". (PM Modi won't be able to stand, if 15 minutes are given to me).
