Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on an official visit to Australia to participate in the G20 Summit and have bilateral discussions with his Australian counterpart Tony Abbot, greeted the people of Jharkhand on Saturday on the occasion of the state's 14th Foundation Day.

Jharkhand came into existence as the 28th state of India on this day in the year 2000. Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is presently in power in Jharkhand. The state will go to polls in five phases beginning on November 25, while the counting of votes will be held on December 23.
