Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, the film is all set to release on January 25.
With barely two days left for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat to release, Shree Rajput Karni Sena has refused to end protests against the film and are now resorting to ruckus in some places.
On Tuesday, members of Rajput Karni Sena pelted stones and vandalised shops in Gujarat's Ahmedabad against the film's release. They also burnt vehicles outside a theatre in Thaltej.
Earlier, Rajput Karni Sena staged a protest against the period drama in Jaipur and issued a issued a chilling warning to those interested in watch the movie.
"We are confident that no cinema hall will screen the film. If someone does they should be ready to bear the consequences. Consider it a warning or request," a Karni Sena member was quoted as saying by ANI. On Monday, some protesters created a ruckus and tore the poster of ‘Padmaavat’ outside a movie hall Telangana.
The manager of Tivoli Theatre said that they informed about the same to Begumpet police, following which they reached there and pacified the matter. "Few persons came to Tivoli Theatre and tore the posters of Padmaavat, which is going to be screened on 25. We immediately informed the matter to Begumpet police. They reached the spot and spoke to them and sent them back," the manager said.
The members of the same organisation also burnt 'Padmaavat' posters and staged a protest against the release of the movie in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow and said,"We will protest in front of every theatre and urge not to screen the movie".
The fringe group also attacked Jyoti cinema hall in Muzaffarpur town and torn posters of the film based on Rajput Queen Rani Padmavati, shouted slogans against its release and threatened to set ablaze the theatre if the film is screened.
The Supreme Court, recently, stayed notifications issued by the four states - Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat - to ban the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum-opus.
The court said all states are constitutionally obliged to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident during the screening of the film, after permission has been granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The period drama has run into trouble time and again, as members of several Rajput factions have accused the director of the film, Bhansali of distorting historical facts. Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, the film is all set to release on January 25.
