Sumitra Mahajan is hale and hearty, Cong MP Shashi Tharoor retracts tweet

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday tweeted that former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has passed away. However, he later deleted the tweet.

"Saddened to learn of the passing of former LokSabha Speakean r Sumitra Mahajan. I remember many positive interactions with her, including when she &the late Sushma Swaraj asked me to lead a Parliamentary delegation to BRICS in Moscow. My condolences to her family &prayers: OmShanti!" Tharoor tweeted.

Tharoor later deleted his tweet, saying that he received the info from what he thought was a reliable source.

"I am relieved if that is so. I received this from what I thought was a reliable source," he tweeted later.
