As the festival of Raksha Bandhan 2023 is approaching, a video has been going viral on social media claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be providing Rs 3000 to every woman as part of a scheme launched by the Centre.

According to the viral video, PM Modi will be giving Rs 3000 per month as a Rakhi gift to all the women in the country as part of a new scheme by the Centre. This scheme will entitle every woman in the country to get Rs 3000 per month.

A video shared by Facebook user TNF Today was captioned, “Modi gifts Rakshabandhan to sisters; every woman will get three thousand rupees.” This video claimed that Rs 3000 will be given to all women of India as part of a special scheme starting on Raksha Bandhan 2023.

The viral video about the scheme says, “The BJP government has started the Ladli Bahna Yojana, three thousand rupees will be deposited in every woman's account, you just have to register with your phone. Announcement of a special scheme for women in the Parliament amidst the humming.”

Fact Check: PM Modi giving Rs 3000 to every woman?

However, these claims about any scheme started by PM Modi for women on Raksha Bandhan 2023 are completely false. The video being shared on social media is misleading and is actually about a scheme started by the Madhya Pradesh government.

The video mentions a scheme called Ladli Behna Yojana. After doing a keyword search on Google, it was found that this scheme is actually called Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, and has been started by the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government.

Under this scheme by the MP government, Rs 1000 will be given to every woman in the state to improve their economic status and their access to healthcare and education. However, this scheme is not linked to Raksha Bandhan in any way and has been going on for years.

Thus, the video claiming that PM Modi is offering a Raksha Bandhan scheme for women is false.
