A day after AIADMK and BJP forged an alliance on Tuesday, the Congress party is set to formalise their partnership with MK Stalin's DMK on Wednesday, for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, sources said.

Congress is likely to contest in 10 Lok Sabha seats in the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) led alliance.

Meanwhile, as far as the seat-sharing arrangement is concerned, the Congress will contest in nine out of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu, and a lone seat in Puducherry.

Stalin's party is likely to contest in 20-25 seats, while the rest of the seats may go to other alliance partners.

An agreement on the same shall be signed in Chennai on Wednesday evening, a source said.

A decision to this effect was finalised after the meeting between Congress president Rahul Gandhi and DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi in New Delhi on Tuesday after discussions with Congress party members, including former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, former Union Minister EVKS Elangovan, state Congress chief KS Alagiri, former chief Thirunavukarasar, and Ramasamy attended this meeting where the proposal of DMK was agreed upon.

Now, TN Congress Committee president KS Alagiri and DMK president MK Stalin shall sign a formal pact in Chennai on February 20, sources in Congress said.
