Chandrayaan-3 news: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released a new video that shows the Pragyan rover roaming around 'Shiv Shakti Point'. The rover attempts to find the lunar secrets at the South Pole of the Moon.

"What's new here? Pragyan rover roams around Shiv Shakti Point in pursuit of lunar secrets at the South Pole," ISRO tweeted. The spot on the Moon where Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram touched down has been termed as 'Shiv Shakti Point'. Check out the new Pragyan video here:

Chandrayaan-3 is the third Indian lunar exploration mission under the ISRO's Chandrayaan programme. The success of this mission has made India the first country to reach the south pole of the moon.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Chandrayaan-3 mission is an 'extraordinary moment' in the history of India's space programme. He added said the place where the Chandrayaan-2 lander crash-landed on the Moon's surface in 2019 would be known as "Tiranga Point".

"There is a scientific tradition of naming the location of touch down. India has decided to name the lunar region where our Chandrayaan-3 landed. The place Vikram lander descended will be known as Shiv Shakti point," he said.

Declaring August 23 as the 'National Space Day,' PM Modi said it will celebrate the spirit of Science, Technology and Innovation, and inspire us for an eternity. After the successful moon lander venture, ISRO is now gearing up for the launch of a solar mission in a week's time, likely on September 2, to study the Sun.
