The ruling NDA coalition in Bihar has announced its seat-sharing formula. According to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar JD-U will contest 122 seats while the BJP will fight on 121 seats in the state. Jitanram Manjhi's HAM party has been given 7 seats from JD-U (Janata Dal United) quota. The BJP will also accommodate seats to Mukesh Sahni's VIP party from its given quota.

While speaking to the media in Patna, Nitish Kumar said that Bihar's development is the utmost priority for his party JD-U and it does not matter what the opposition parties say. The RJD has been extremely critical of the Nitish Kumar government accusing him of taking Bihar back into the dark ages.

Making a veiled attack on the Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi said that only those who consider Nitish Kumar as their leader will be considered a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). And only NDA will have the permission to use Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pictures during their poll campaign.
