Moore was previously married to Ryan Adams. The ex-couple tied the knot in 2009 and parted ways nearly a decade later, in 2016. Adams had recently written a public apology to Moore, asking for her to forgive his earlier deeds.

In a previous interview (from 2016), Mandy had said that she would like a baby sooner than later. She also stated not imagining a better father than Goldsmith, since he makes her melt. Moore also said that Goldsmith would be the most tremendous father.

Earlier this year, Taylor had penned a beautiful note on Demi's birthday. He shared, "Happy Birthday to the bravest, baddest, bestest wife a guy could ever dream of. I love you more and more with each moment I get to spend in your presence. Thanks for showing me (and anyone else who knows you) what it looks like to step into every day committed to being the best version of yourself at all times. And you do it so gracefully too. I'm so stoked I get to know you forever. Thanks for hanging out with me."
