TikTok finds their Silk Smitha in Tharar K, her videos from Mohanlal's 'Spadikam' go viral

The 80s sex siren Silk Smitha is back in news courtesy TikTok user Tharar K, who the internet feels is a doppelganger of the actress. Videos of Tharar singing songs from Silk Smitha-Mohanlal's movie 'Spadikam' have been going viral since some time now.

The evergreen classic 'Spadikam' happens to be a top favourite among Mollywood lovers. Pulling off Silk Smitha's dialogues and expressions from the film was definitely a task which Tharar, according to the internet, managed to do smoothly.

Directed by Bharathan, the movie released in March 1995. Co-incidentally the makers of 'Spadikam' did show interest in releasing the movie on digital platforms. The movie completed 25 years since release and Bharathan made the announcement while unveiling the first poster of the film.

Coming to Silk Smitha, another actress who gained popularity with the role was Vidya Balan. She portrayed the role of Silk Smitha in the movie 'The Dirty Picture', and was widely accepted in the character. The movie, also featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi, released in 2011.
