Oscars 2016: Here is the complete list of nominees for the 88th Academy Awards

'The Revenant' leads nominations for Oscars 2016 with 12 nods. 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'The Martian' follow with 10 and 7 nominations each

Nominees for 88th Academy Awards were announced on Thursday. Three times Academy award winner director Ang Lee, Guillermo Dell Toro, actor John Krasinski unveiled the final contenders in all the categories.

Leonardo DiCaprio bagged the nomination for best actor for The Revenant. The movie also faired greatly in crucial categories. Mad Max: Fury Road and The Martian followed with 10 and 7 nominations each.

This year too the Academy runs the risk of having white washed list. Straight Outta Compton got one nod for original screenplay and Idris Elba, considered to be one of the strong contenders for best-supporting actor category for Beasts of No Nation, is not even selected.
