Kate Winslet, Idris Elba to play leads in 'The Mountain Between Us'

Actress Kate Winslet is apparently in talks to join Idris Elba in new romance-survival drama The Mountain Between Us.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 40-year-old Titanic star is in negotiations over a role in 20th Century Fox's adaptation of Charles Martin's 2010 best selling novel.

The original book revolves around an engaged woman who charters a flight home to avoid weather delays. She then meets a surgeon on the flight and falls in love, but when the plane crashes, the two must work together to survive the mountain wilderness.

Paradise Now helmer Hany Abu-Assad is directing the romantic drama, with Chris Weitz writing the most recent draft of the film.
