Designer Lina Tipnis has created a special kurti for none other than Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordon and the designer is ecstatic about the development. She says that it is all a part of improving Indo-Jordon cultural and trade ties.

She adds, “I have always been a great fan of the queen. I love her corporate profile. She has an understated style yet she looks so amazing. We are doing this to promote friendship between India and Jordan and it is aimed at improving tourism and trade. We are also looking to get more Bollywood film crews there and shoot. Jordan is a very picturesque country and it has been untapped by Bollywood.”

Speaking about her special outfit created for the queen, Lina says, “We gifted the kurti to the ambassadors who would hand it over to the queen. The colour selected was especially chosen to suit her corporate profile and the embroidery was inspired by the jewellery once worn by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, now owned by Cartier, which was strategically placed on a high standing collar. The stones used were in a thunder grey giving an iridescent effect. The silk used was given a special treatment in terms of texture in order to give it fluidity and comfort”
