International shows are always a big lure for producers and almost everyone from telly land wants to remake or be part of such projects. Anil Kapoor created a trend when he got the remake rights of the international series 24.
Earlier, there have been desi versions of several reality shows like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, American Idol, America's Got Talent and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, but now makers want to recreate fiction shows.
Earlier there were rumours of Star Plus coming up with a desi version of Grey's Anatomy. We got in touch with the producer of Zee TV's Jamai Raja – Ashvini Yardi to find out which international show is on her wish list. "If I had to remake an international show, it would have to be Breaking Bad, as I love the concept and it has some of the most fabulous performances in recent time. But I think that the time is not right, yet, to adapt it for Indian sensibilities. I hope that someday I would be able to bring it to our television." Now wouldn't a desi version of Breaking Bad make an interesting watch?
