Actors in India enjoy a huge fan base. Not just the Bollywood stars, but actors down South too have a huge fan base, who can go to any extent to just catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. Sometimes, such blind frenzy may result in a lot of loss as well. Something similar happened to a fan of popular South actress Kajal Aggarwal.
One of the many fans of Kajal Aggarwal from Ramanathapuram wished to meet her. Such was his strong desire to meet his favourite actress, that he ended up falling into the trap of online fraudsters. These frauds were operating a webpage that promised to help the fans meet the actress. This young fan got tricked and even paid a sum of Rs 50 thousand along with his personal details as the first step to meet the actress.
The months that followed didn't bring him any closer to Kajal Aggarwal, but he ended up losing even more money to the online frauds who kept on looting him without giving him any details on when and where they'd set up his meeting with the actress. When there was no sign of any meeting happening with the actress after several transactions, the fan realised that he's been cheated on.
The frauds didn't stop there. They continued to ask him for more money and when he denied to do so, they started threatening him, saying that they'll share his obscene pictures on social media. Reportedly, the fan had already paid Rs 60 lakh in three installments to the gang on the pretext of meeting Kajal Aggarwal.
The fan was so distressed that he left his house and was later found in Kolkata by the police. It was then that he opened up on what had transpired. Reports doing the rounds suggest that the police have taken a producer who goes by the name of Saravanakumar, into custody on the basis of the fan's complaint.
