The UPSC exam is the toughest recruitment exam in the whole world and aspirants spend years preparing for the exam. Ideally, it is said that those who study humanities subjects have the best chance at cracking the UPSC exam but there are so many people who have broken this stereotype and have become IAS officers even after studying other disciplines.

One perfect example is Mittali Sethi. Mittal was born and raised in Jalandhar, she was a bright student from the beginning. After completing school, she went on to study dental for both, her graduation and post-graduation degrees.

Once her education was complete, she started to practice as an orthodontist. After practicing for few years she wanted to explore something else.

Finally, she appeared for the UPSC exam and failed in her first attempt. She appeared a second time and failed again but by then Sethi realised what UPSC was about and started having fun with the preparations.
