A 28-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Naroli area of Jarcha in Greater Noida. The police said that the incident took place on the night of June 3. A case has been registered while the police are yet to make any arrests.

According to the police, the victim in her complaint has said that she was on her way to Noida from Hapur with the three accused persons, whom she had met at Hapur. The three allegedly gang-raped her and even tried to poison her on the way.

" The woman said that her husband is lodged in Hapur jail and on June 3, she had gone to meet him and try for her his bail. The three accused identified as Hazmat, Ismail Ali and Muzammil, all natives of Sarurpur in Hapur, allegedly approached her under the pretext of providing her legal help," said a senior police officer.

The trio then offered her lift and help to meet a criminal lawyer. However, the woman has claimed that after reaching Greater Noida, the accused forcibly took her to an isolated area in Naroli and gang-raped her and tried to poison her. However, the woman filed a case on June 5.

"After raping her, she was dumped by the roadside. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, we have booked the three under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. However, no arrest could be made so far as we are still cross verifying the claims made by the victim," said a senior police officer.
