Former India batter and batting coach Sanjay Bangar has expressed his confidence in India's fast-bowling prowess, comparing it favorably to Pakistan's formidable pace trio. With a highly anticipated Super-4 stage clash between India and Pakistan looming in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium, Bangar shared his insights with Star Sports.

"India's fast-bowling attack can certainly match Pakistan's," Bangar declared confidently. "When you look at the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah, we have a trio that's just as potent as Pakistan's famed pacers. In terms of individual talents, we stand toe-to-toe with the Pakistani attack”.

He went on to analyze the previous encounter between the two arch-rivals during the group stage of the Asia Cup 2023, where Pakistan's fast bowlers showcased their prowess by dismissing India for 266 runs. Unfortunately, rain played spoilsport, leading to a no-result.

"Let me tell you when India set a target of 260 or 270 on that particular surface, it would have posed a significant challenge to Pakistan's batters as well," Bangar noted. "The pitch was offering assistance to the bowlers, making run-scoring difficult for both teams”.
As the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in Colombo on September 10 approaches, the two teams find themselves in different states of readiness. Pakistan has two comprehensive victories under their belt, while India has only partially completed matches, batting in one and a half games and bowling in just one.

The forthcoming encounter carries immense significance for both teams, not only in the context of the Asia Cup 2023 final but also as preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The cricketing world eagerly awaits this showdown between two of the sport's fiercest rivals, with bowlers from both sides expected to play a pivotal role in determining the outcome.
