Twitter board confident about merger agreement, intends to close at $54.20 per share

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Friday that he was withdrawing his $44 billion offer to purchase Twitter because the social media company had broken many terms of the acquisition agreement. Twitter retaliated immediately, threatening to sue Tesla CEO Elon Musk if the deal was not followed.

Twitter Board issued the following statement in response: We are committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plan to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
