Xiaomi said that the first sale on April 30 garnered nearly 3,50,000 registrations for just 40,000 phones.
Xiaomi's India sales have always ended before they began and the one on April 30 selling the new Mi 4i was no different. The company sold its entire stock of 40,000 phones in 15 seconds.
The new Mi 4i, designed specifically for India, is currently being sold for Rs 12,999 exclusively on Xiaomi's online retail partner Flipkart.
The first sale took place on April 30, at 2 pm and the next one will follow on Thursday April 7.
To get your hands on the phone, one has to pre-register on Flipkart after which the link to buy the phone gets activated on the site when you log in.

The sale, thus, lasted merely 15 seconds as all phones were snapped up before you could say Xiaomi.
So, if you are looking to get the new Xiaomi Mi 4i for Rs 12,999 for yourself but have been unlucky at the sale, here is another way to get the phone.
Either you try your luck again at the next sale on Thursday May 7 or head to the various forums where people who managed to buy the phone are selling it at a slight premium.
This has been the case with all flash sales of mobile phones on Indian retail websites.
A quick glance at the comments sections of various sites will show you people ready to sell their new Mi 4is for a premium ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1000.
