Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's journey from being a complete outsider to ruling the Hindi film industry box office and earning the sobriquet 'Badshah of Bollywood' is nothing short of inspirational.

However, SRK as he is fondly called never forgot his roots even when he climbed the ladder of success and entered the elite echelons of B-town.

Raised in New Delhi before he shifted to Mumbai and became a superstar, the actor completed his early education in St. Columba's School. SRK excelled in both studies and sports and although Mumbai is now where he resides, Delhi has always been home to him. In fact, he owns a lavish house in the capital which was in news last year after it was put up for rent in collaboration with Airbnb.

Talking about his schooling days, in a documentary called 'The Inner World Of Shah Rukh Khan' that is now going viral on the internet, the actor revisited his alma mater and gave fans a tour of the premises and met a few old acquaintances.

SRK also mentions in the video clip that his school was a 'little strict' and 'very disciplined' and that the boys were required to maintain short hair.

During his short chat with the actor, one of the old acquaintances that SRK meets, he reminds Shah Rukh about an incident involving the students of Modern School. He asks, "Yaad hai Modern school walo ke daant tod diye the (remember breaking the teeth of Modern School kids?)". Shah Rukh couldn't help but laugh the incident off.

In the video, SRK is also seen asking a person from the management if he would be around since he intends to bring his son, Aryan, along with him in the near future.

"I am so glad that I came...it's quite overwhelming," SRK is heard saying in the video as he leaves to return to his car.

While in the car, SRK is seen expressing how much he misses being a part of the school and feeling special in the way before he achieved stardom.

Take a look at the clip here:

For the unversed, SRK had a unique nickname in school. He was called 'Mail Gadda'. In an interview with Filmfare in 2018, Shah Rukh had revealed why he was called so. He had said. "Mail gadda, because I used to run very fast, like an express train. Also because my hair used to stand out in front," he explained. The actor added, "I've troubled many of my teachers. I once convinced my chemistry teacher to give me good marks by telling her I was like her son. I also used to feign an attack of epilepsy very often. I'd 'faint' in the classroom and the teachers had to take off their shoes for me to smell. Once, when we had a new teacher, I 'fainted' and the other kids convinced him that if he didn't give me the suede shoes he was wearing, I'd die. He had to roam barefoot the rest of the day."

Meanwhile, on the work front, SRK will be next seen in Siddharth Anand directorial 'Pathan' opposite Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film is slated for release in 2022.
