Suniel Shetty cheers for his son-in-law and cricketer KL Rahul as he scores a century in India vs Pakistan Aisa Cup game.
KL Rahul recently made a fiery comeback as he scored a century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup game. Reacting to the same, his father-in-law Suniel Shetty and his wife Athiya heaped praise on the actor’s performance in the game.
On Monday, as KL Rahul scored a smashing century, Suniel Shetty took to his Twitter and penned a heartfelt note for his son-in-law. Sharing his picture celebrating his ton, the actor wrote, “A sublime performance - A triumphant return. Gratitude Overflows. Grateful to the almighty for empowering all efforts.”
KL Rahul’s wife and actress Athiya Shetty also showered love on her husband and taking to her Instagram story, the actress wrote, “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise…..You are everything, I love you.”
Netizens also reacted to Suneil Shetty’s post and showered love on KL Rahul. One of the comments read, “Damad aapka hira hain (your son-in-law in a diamond).” Another wrote, “best is yet to cone. Emerging legend.” Another fan commented, “well wished Shetty anna.” Another wrote, “damaad ji mast khele aaj (your son-in-law played quite well today).”
Suniel Shetty never misses a chance to heap praise on son-in-law, cricketer KL Rahul. Earlier too in an interview with Etimes, he talked about their bond and said, “I am anxious because that’s my child (KL Rahul) playing. I would wish well for him but through his eyes and seeing him, I have started empathizing and sympathizing, appreciating every cricketer there is here. When your child goes through a low, it shakes you more probably than it shakes the child because he is the master of that form but you don’t know. You are seeing him as a father.”
The actor called himself a ‘proud father’ and wrote, “But then when he rises like a phoenix you feel this is something to be inspired from and this is what the team’s tough boys are. I am a proud father. Blessed is Athiya and blessed is Ahaan because he gets to learn about from him. He is calm, composed, and very respectful. I don’t think I could have asked for a better son.”
The winner of today’s India vs Pakistan match will stand a better chance at the Asia Cup’s final tournament. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul’s partnership and twin ton took the match’s total score to 356 runs. Now, provided the rain stays away, Pakistan will need to chase 357 to win the game.
Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty has an interesting lineup of movies planned ahead. The actor will be seen reuniting with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri 3. Other than this, he will also be seen in Welcome to The Jungle with Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez among others. Both of the movies are set to release in 2024.
