The 2 minutes 48 seconds trailer also shows glimpses of Saina's inspiring journey and what it took for her to reach the number 1 position. Saina does not just depict the journey of the badminton player but also touches upon gender-related taboos in our society.

Sharing the trailer video on Twitter, Parineeti wrote, "SAINA. This women's day I am proud to bring to you - In cinemas 26th March. Watch the trailer now (sic)."

The trailer highlights Saina's many achievements and shows how her parents and coach, played by Manav Kaul, encouraged her to be the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal, to win five medals in Commonwealth Games, and become the only Indian woman badminton player to become world No. 1.

Earlier Shraddha Kapoor was roped in to play the titular role in Saina and was then replaced by Parineeti. Talking about the same, Chopra had told Bombay Times, "She’s right! Har film ki apni kismat hoti hai. I remember being over the moon after reading just five pages of the script. I met the director Amole Gupte. I wanted to do it, but things didn’t materialise then. Shraddha is a dear friend and we often discussed how she was doing my film. It's sheer luck that it came back to me."

'Saina' is all set to release in theatres on March 26.
