'Kedarnath' producer Prernaa Arora arrested for alleged fraud of Rs 16 crore

If not directly, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath is facing problem once again.

The producer of the film Prernaa Arora is into legal trouble. KriArj Entertainment's Prernaa is not new to trouble, and this time around, things have gone out of hands. 

The Bollywood producer, who has made headlines several times in the past year, has been arrested by Mumbai's Economic Offence Wing in a case of criminal breach of trust.

The case, filed by producer Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment, filed a complaint againt Prernaa in June 2018 after they learnt that the producer-headed KriArj  Entertainment had passed on the rights of Kedarnath to Ronnie Screwvala.

The complainant stated that after this illegal transfer of rights, they suffered wrongful losses amounting to Rs 16 crore.

The complainant also approached the Bombay High court saying that the Economic Offence Wing police had not taken any action on the same despite repeated reminders.

Prernaa Arora has been remanded to police custody till December 10.

Prernaa Arora's production house KriArj Entertainment has co-produced critically acclaimed films, including PadMan, Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Rustom.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Kapoor directorial Kedarnath has hit the silver screens. 

The film which released on December 7, marks Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan's Bollywood debut.
