While the entire film industry is remembering late veteran actress Sridevi on the occasion of her 56th birth anniversary today, her fans too have gone bonkers on social media, remembering the legendary actress. The actors today invest a lot in the characters that they portray and are ready to go to any lengths to be truthful to their roles. 

A lot of the actors end up getting hurt while performing stunts or shooting for some tricky scenes for their film. Not many are aware that Sridevi too almost risked losing her eyesight for the sake of shooting for a film. 

If a recent report on an entertainment portal is anything to go by, then Sridevi risked her eye sight while playing the character of a naagin in the 1986 film Nagina. The actress plays the role of a shape-shifting naagin in the film and reportedly, Sridevi had to change her contact lenses quite frequently, which was troublesome for her eyes. 

The report on the entertainment portal further suggests that Sridevi was even cautioned by her doctors to not use lenses else her condition would further detetiorate. The actress was spotted frequently using eye drops on the sets of the film while shooting. 

The film Nagina is also known for Sridevi's classic dance number Main Teri Dushman. The actress plays the character of a naagin who ties the knot with a civilian in order to avenge death of her husband. The film also starred Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Prem Chopra and others in significant roles.
