Deepika Padukone on ex Ranbir Kapoor skipping her wedding reception:I wasn't surprised, that's the relationship we share

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's grand Mumbai wedding reception saw several romantically-linked celebrity pairs like Tiger Shroff-Disha Patani and Farhan Akhtar–Shibani Dandekar make a stylish entry together. However, the one couple which everyone desperately waited for was Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, given how close Deepika has been with the two. But there was no sign of them at the reception.

A report in Pinkvilla stated that it was Ranbir and Alia's busy schedule that kept them away from attending the much talked about reception. "Alia and Ranbir along with Ayan Mukerji did a 20 hour shift for 'Brahmastra' on Saturday and hence couldn't make it for the bash," the report said. 

However if Deepika's latest statement is anything to go by then she was not even expecting Ranbir to join her wedding celebrations.

When asked if she fought with Ranbir for not attending her reception, Deepika told Filmfare, "We have not spoken. I mean we had spoken before the reception but we haven't spoken after it. But, that's him. I'm not surprised at all. That's the relationship we share and that's the beauty of that relationship. Like I mean, so much is said without saying much at all."

Years after their public breakup, her pleasantly surprising camaraderie with Ranbir, still amazes many. The two are still friends and are considered one of the hottest on-screen Bollywood couples.

While Deepika is happily married with Ranveer, Ranbir is in a serious relationship with Alia.
