Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad slams Pooja Bedi for defending Milind Soman's naked photo

Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad which is one of the organisations of Hindu Sants and sadhus in the country has expressed resentment on Pooja Bedi's recent tweets. For the uninitiated, the actor posted a series of tweets defending Milind Soman's recent nude photo by comparing them with Naga Sadhus. Akhara Council President Mahendra Giri said that Pooja Bedi does not have any knowledge of Naga sannyasa tradition. Milind had posted his naked photo on social media during his birthday.

Giri further said that it's wrong to 'compare the nudity and vulgarity of a film artist to the tradition of Naga ascetics'. Mahendra Giri went on to advice Pooja that she should educate herself by gaining information about Naga Sannyasa. He also said that that person who performs naked for their benefit gives the wrong message in society.

Akhara Council also invited Pooja Bedi to Mahakumbh to be held in Haridwar in 2021. They said that she should come to Mahakumbh to get information about the tradition of Naga ascetics.

Pooja had tweeted, "Absolutely nothing obscene about @milindrunning aesthetic pic. The obscenity lies in the minds of a viewer imagining more! His crime is being good looking, famous & setting benchmarks! If nudity is a crime all naga babas should be arrested. Smearing ash can't make it acceptable!"

She further tweeted, "Please tell me why this video of naked men flashing & flaunting their genitalia isn't obscene? Because it involves men considered "holy"? Is there anything holy about what they r doing in this video? Why shouldn't they b booked 4 obscenity? @milindrunning".
