Gujarat BJP leaders to meet again on candidate selection

The party has already announced names of candidates including BJP chief Amit Shah from Gandhinagar and 15 others.

Gujarat BJP leaders are going to meet on Tuesday to discuss the final names for candidates for the remaining ten Lok Sabha seats in the state. The party has already announced names of candidates including BJP chief Amit Shah from Gandhinagar and 15 others.

The Gujarat in charge of BJP, Om Mathur, arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon and the top brass of the party is going to meet on Tuesday morning.

A senior leader of the party said, "The final list of candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat will be out this week. The party has been trying to convince some of the ministers in the state government to contest the polls. Moreover, those who will be replaced by fresh faces also have to be taken into confidence."

The party may field cabinet minister Dilip Thakor from Patan, Jayesh Radadiya from Porbandar and Parbat Patel from Banaskantha seat. However, none of them were ready to give up their position as minister, said the party leader.
