55 stages set to give a warm hug to PM Modi, Benjamin Netanyahu

Around 74 stages, including 55 main stages and 19 small stages, has been built to showcase the various performances to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by Ahmedabad civic body on Wednesday, from Airport to Gandhi Ashram. A grand road show has been planned for the Israeli PM. The citizens are going to witness the same shows and dance forms once again.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe had also held a joint roadshow during the latter's visit here in last September. The Indian premier had shown Abe and his wife around at the Sabarmati Ashram. However, the monuments across the city have not been illuminated this time as the guests will not stay overnight.

"There are stages between airport to Gandhi Ashram which will exhibit different dance forms, representing different states on the seven-kilometer-long stretch. A stage is also been assigned for Jewish dance. There are also 19 small stages other than the main 55 stages," said Pravin Patel, standing committee chairman, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

"Since we have good experience of welcoming international guests, we need not put much effort this time," added Patel.

Meanwhile, BJP Councillors have also been asked to bring as many people as they can from their respective wards. Also , students from around 30 schools will also take part in the roadshow. People, who come to see the show, will also be given flags of both the countries.

SCHEDULE

• 10.30am  arrival at Ahmedabad airport
   
• 11.15am  both Prime ministers will reach at Gandhi Ashram in an open jeep
   
• 11.50am  visit at Ashram ends. Leave for Bavla from Helicopter. They will address more than 1,500 top industrialists of Gujarat at ICreate Centre, Bavla.
   
• 2pm  After lunch, the PMs will reach Vadraj of Sabarkantha in a Helicopter and address agricultural scientists for an hour or so.
   
• 4.45pm  The PMs will reach Ahmedabad airport.
